Community Futures
Who We Are and What We Do
Community Futures Tawatinaw Region is proud to offer a wide variety of learning opportunities for small business owners.
Community Futures is a federally funded not for profit program providing advisory and lending services across much of rural Canada. We provide a variety of business services including access to education, advice on marketing and financing, the steps involved in opening and registering a business, understanding GST and other CRA obligations, understanding financial statements and more.
We are often the first loan to a start-up business, as traditional banks like to see a few years of profitable operations before approving funding. Also, many established businesses face challenges getting bank financing and turn to our lending services. Many clients have said they would like to continue borrowing with us, however once a bank is wiling to provide a business loan we step aside. We are happy to continue to provide advisory and education services to clients who have returned to their bank for lending.
Our loans can be in the form of a Term Loan and Line of Credit or Revolving Loans. Our maximum loan amount is $150,000.00 however we can provide loans for as little as just a few thousand dollars. Our lending program requires a completed application and business plan, that we can assist you with. Our volunteer Board of Directors evaluates and decides on loan requests.
It is our goal to support rural small businesses from start up to success.
